Apathy - Chapter One I slipped into the house quietly, hanging up the car keys on the nail in the wall. I quickly took off my shoes, glancing at the oven's clock in the kitchen, the only source of light. It was 3:50 AM. Crap. Had he and I both slept that long? Plans formed in my mind quickly. Apathy - Prologue A cool breeze blew through the twilight-filled clearing. We sat there quietly in the tall grass, just staring at each other. Even though the light was fading quickly, his bright green eyes seemed to light up the clearing. To me, at least. Just looking at him sent surges of heat through my body and caused my heart to swell until I believed it might burst. I pulled my legs up to my chest, resting my chin on my knees.
